Businesses cannot survive without access to sound legal agreements. In effect, legal agreements are the basis of all business relationships, clearly defining those relationships and providing protection for both parties. Unfortunately, going to an attorney every time you need to create a legal agreement can be both time consuming and very expensive.

Whether you want an official customer contract or a letter of intent or even a consulting agreement, you will find templates and sample forms at dozens of sites. You can even search for forms specific to your type of business, and many agreements can be customized when you download them.

You should note, however, that it is still important to take the forms you're considering to your attorney. Usually it will take far less time for your attorney to review an already written document than to write a new one. That means less expense and time creating forms and more time selling your product.

Legal agreements go far beyond simple sales or service contracts. They also include such items as letters of intent, employment agreements, employee handbooks, consulting agreements, and many more. You might even want to consider purchasing a packet of such agreements online so that you will have them handy when you need them.
