What is computer cooling and why is it an essential component to extending the life and efficiency of your computer? With each command you give your PC electricity is generated causing the heat of the system to rise. CPUs, hard drives and cases all require cooling mechanisms to ensure your computer does not overheat.

Many case fans are built into newer computers. Typically, with each computer you purchase one case fan is included. This may or may not be enough to keep the temperature of your system regulated. A case fan brings in cool air from outside the computer and creates airflow in and around the interior of the CPU.

Different Fans for Different Parts

Hard drive fans and CPU fans focus on cooling off specific components of each computer. Depending on how many MegaHertz your system is, you will need varying amounts of cool airflow. Ask your retailer for the recommended number and placement of fans for optimum computer cooling.

Though your computer may have come with some form of cooling mechanism, it's always a good idea to test its functionality. Since these fans need to be replaced from time to time, you'll want to make sure your fan is functioning properly and accurately handling the system temperature. Computer cooling is an essential part to keeping your PC in excellent condition.
