Pogo pins are used in testing of BGA, PGA and QFP packages. These pins are used to create a contact point between the test socket and other testing devices and the printed circuit board. Components of Pogo Pins

In addition, pogo pins traditionally feature a plunger at the bottom of the device. This plunger helps to create a clean contact with the printed circuit board. Finally, a pogo pin features a barrel. The barrel provides an electrical path for signals between the crown and the plunger.
