Software For Learning ComputersWritten by Gregg Ruais It's impossible to learn how to use a computer without the right software. Whether someone wants to learn from a book or online training course, at the very least the person will need a copy of the software program he or she wants to learn. Instructions on how to write HTML code, for example, will not fully sink in without practice and hands-on experience. Interactive Learning with SoftwareBy the time someone gets to the end of a book on HTML, most topics that had been explained in chapter one will be forgotten. The best way to learn is to read a section in a book, listen to a lecture, or watch an online demonstration and then immediately complete corresponding exercises. Most online courses automatically tell students to work on their own after a topic has been covered. The process is fresh in the student's mind, and then it gets reinforced when he or she performs the task. One of the great advantages of attending an online school is that students get the opportunity to start building their portfolios as they learn. Someone cannot complete a course in web design, for example, without building a website. Some people start their own online businesses with the websites they design for class. Some online learning centers cannot be used before the pupil downloads special software. In most instances, the cost of the software is included in the contract agreement between either the student (or organization) and the online school. When planning your budget for an education in IT, make sure to factor in the cost of any software you might need to complete your work.
