Newsletters are an invaluable tool for small business owners, authors, speakers, coaches, and many other creative and entrepreneurial people. Newsletters are also incredible fundraising tools. When clients and donors are kept informed, their relationship to your company or service stays truly alive.

Newsletters, Communication and Relationships

Relationships, after all, are what it's all about. New business is great, but repeat business is the cornerstone of success. Drumming up cold business can be very difficult. Just like in every other aspect of life, it's easier to maintain than it is to start from scratch. Newsletters help you maintain the business contacts you already worked so hard to find.

However, sending your newsletter out on a regular basis can be a challenge, to say the least. First, you have to write it. Then, you have to spend days on end cutting and pasting email addresses to send the newsletter out. Many of the email addresses will be defunct. Send too many at one time, and the newsletter may be blocked as Spam.

Do yourself a favor, and automate the process. Work with a marketing company that can work with you to help you keep in contact with your customers each month in a streamlined and fully automated fashion. Many good marketing companies also offer other valuable services, like shopping carts, so do your homework before settling on any one company.
