Cheap Router

You get what you pay for. How many times have we all heard that? We always end up bemoaning buying something on the cheap, when for just a little bit more money we could have bought something reliable. On the other hand, we're also always on the lookout for the best deal. When someone gets a great deal on something, chances are everyone that person knows is going to hear about it, and probably hear about it more than once.

The key here is to balance these two impulses: to spend a little more for quality, and to find the best deal available. And it's certainly possible to do both. But you'll need to know what you're looking for.

When it comes to routers, the first thing to look for is name recognition. Have you heard of the manufacturer? Have you looked it up online to see what other people are saying? If you know anyone who is technically savvy, have you asked her? What's her opinion?

Once you've narrowed down your list of manufacturers, now it's time to buy. You can obviously go to a computer or electronics store, but chances are you'll find the best deals on the Internet. If that's the case, you can do a search for the brands (and model numbers too, if you got lucky enough to get that information). The Internet has become a treasure trove of good deals, and a simple Google search can net you good results, and even better prices.
