Computer Accessory Gifts

If you're shopping for someone who uses a computer at home or at work (and there aren't many of us left who don't), there are all sorts of great accessories out there that would make great gifts. Some of these depend on the way a person uses his or her computer, and others are pretty much good for anybody. Let's take a look at some of the most useful accessories (in other words things that are most likely to be appreciated by the recipient).

Computer Accessory Gifts

One of my favorite computer accessories (and one which I had to unfortunately buy myself) is the wireless optical mouse. Wireless mice are great because they give you one less cord to worry about, and also because they can be used anywhere in the room. The optical feature is especially useful because optical mice are far more precise and don't get clogged up with dust like normal mice. You can also use them on uneven surfaces, like a couch or even your leg!

If you're buying a gift for someone you like to chat with online, you might consider getting them (and yourself) a web cam. Most instant messenger applications now feature the ability to see your chat partner while you're talking to them. If you both have a broadband connection, this can be a great (and free) way to keep in touch.

Buying software for people is also a great idea, especially if you know more about computers than they do. A lot of people settle for using the software that came with their computers, which in most cases is sorely lacking. If you know your friends well enough to know they use the computer, consider buying them some software that will help them have fun or increase their productivity.
