Thousands of Jobs Are Being Lost

Outsourced web tech support is just a portion of the jobs that are being lost overseas. In a 2003 study, more than 15% of the 2.81 million jobs that were lost managed to reappear somewhere overseas. What does this mean for you?

As a job holder you may have some concern that your position could be terminated by your employer and outsourced to a third party in another country. Why are so many jobs being lost this way? Competitive pricing, quality work and attention to deadlines are just a few of the reason that many U.S. based companies are looking across the ocean for help.

Why Have They Outsourced Web Tech Support?

Outsourced web tech support is easy to delegate to another company. The internet has enabled and connected organizations with resources all over the world. This in turn has encouraged companies to evaluate many options that perhaps were not available ten years ago.

In countries such as Canada or India, the value of currency helps attract many U.S. businesses. A state-based technology firm could easily outsource their information technology department at a fraction of the cost of employing full-time staff. As more businesses continue to outsource successfully, more organizations will inevitably jump on the band wagon.
