Starter Website

You know you need a starter website if you want to get your company online but aren't ready to dive into building a full-fledged site with all the bells and whistles. Many smaller companies are on a tight budget and can't afford fancy, customized solutions. Therefore, many design and hosting firms have developed starter website packages that are more cost-effective.

Starter website packages usually include a simple design with your organization's logo, a certain amount of pages to the site, a year or two of domain registration, and a year of a standard hosting package, including email accounts. They may or may not include submission to search engines or shopping carts.

Benefits of a Starter Website

It's no secret that having an online presence is key to your success in business. If customers can't reach you or get information 24 hours a day, they will be frustrated and go somewhere else. So even if you have to use a simple design in the beginning, it is worth it just to get online.

Plus, many of these companies use templates to build your site, so the design will be simple, but professionally done by a web designer. It's not going to look sloppy and homemade. Just be aware that doing it this way does have limitations, and find out if the package is scaleable for when your business grows.
