College Admission Process

Many students are not aware that they need to begin preparing for the college admission process early in high school. Contrary to popular belief among students, the SATs are not the only thing that matter, nor the most important for that matter. A college wants to see that you possess skills and qualities outside of the academic world as well.

Prepare Early for the College Admission Process

The best way to display a dynamic character is to join activities or organizations that demonstrate your leadership qualities. Join clubs and school chapters that interest you right your freshman year. The college you apply to will be impressed with your membership longevity rather than if you join your senior year.

This doesn't mean go out and join every club your school offers. Find a few that really spark an interest and become involved in those few. Active participation in those organizations will benefit you more than anything else.

Ask your high school counselor for outside volunteer activities. If you find a cause that you really believe in, dedicate your time and energy for the benefit of that group. It will be to your benefit as well in the future. Simple preparation will make the college admission process a piece of cake for you.
