Interior design course work covers many different aspects of in-home design. By enrolling in these classes you will learn valuable information on decor, layout and much more. There are a number of positions that require a degree in interior design, as you will read about on the following pages.

Color, Fabric & Furniture

There are many elements of interior design that are required before a degree can be earned. Three of these are color, fabric and furniture. Other topics will be covered in the coming pages but for now we will focus on these three.

Studying color palettes in an interior design course will help you understand the importance of color fluidity. Painting each room of your house a different color may seem like a good idea, but once the paint touches the walls you'll be sorry you hadn't considered color schemes. Color palettes and selection are covered early on in your course work.

What You'll Learn From an Interior Design Course

Fabric and furniture go hand in hand. Choosing the right upholstery to match your painted walls can be difficult. Styles of draperies vary depending on the size and shape of your window. Without the right information you may compromise the style and decor of your room.
