An interior design degree can earn you a multitude of positions in the work force. Before you enroll in design classes, decide what type of position you ultimately want to secure. There are thousands of students each year that enroll in college classes and wind up changing their mind or major, resulting in wasted course credit and money.

Job Options

Maybe you'd like to work for a prestigious furniture distributor. Many of these companies are now offering their own in-home design consultants. You could find yourself decorating rooms for consumers while earning a full-time salary with benefits.

Another option might be to work for a home builder association. Most builders construct model homes for buyers to view. These homes are always decorated professionally in order to appeal to consumers.

Self Employment After an Interior Design Degree

Or maybe you'd like to start your own business. If you have the entrepreneurial spirit all you need is an interior design degree. This could be a very profitable venture depending on the stature of your clientele.
