Once you've received your admittance letter, the next step in the process is planning for college! This is the truly exciting part of beginning your undergraduate studies. Preparing for college might seem a little overwhelming at first, but your counselor can help with all your questions.

There are a few different aspects of planning involved in preparing for your big first year. In addition to deciding on the perfect color scheme for your new dorm room, you'll need to prepare yourself in advance for the upcoming workload. College is no piece of cake! If you don't prepare, you could fall behind.

One way to prepare is to make an outline of your first and second year's schedule. Your counselor will have some good advise in regards to scheduling, so make sure you use him or her as a resource. It's also a good idea to purchase your books early. Ask someone who's already gone through the first year for some valuable advice.

Planning for College While In High School

It's never too early to start planning for college. The best preparation you can do is to start researching schools early. By the beginning of your senior year in high school you should know what schools you are planning on applying to and request applications for those schools as soon as they become available.
