A home school math curriculum does not have to be difficult to choose for any student. Because most math units build on the knowledge of the past, it is easy to assess the current level of each home schooled student and choose the next proper curriculum. Bright colors and story-based lessons can stimulate their understanding of simple addition, subtraction, fraction and multiplication problems. Because math is one of the most difficult subjects for students to learn, especially in High School, the right home school books need to be purchased. The schooling a young teenager learns at home must prepare him or her for the educational and emotional challenges of College. Without this ultimate goal in mind, a High School home school curriculum is literally worthless.

In 9th grade, a student should begin the challenges of Algebra, graphing, quadratic equations, and challenging verbal problems. In grades 10 and 11, a student should understand coordinate geometry and probability factors. Finally, grade 12 should tackle pre-calculus, trigonometry and any other advanced mathematics to prepare the student for the College-level home school math curriculum.
