If you're tired of getting rejected for traditional college scholarships, you might want to explore one of the more unusual college scholarships on the market today. Just because you didn't earn the top grades or score the winning touchdown, doesn't mean you can't find funding for your educational dreams.

One of the most unusual scholarships available to students today is the Frederick and Mary F. Beckley scholarship. This is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to left-handed students who attend Juniata College in Pennsylvania. When you attend lesser known colleges, you can often find a number of unusual and special scholarships.

Unusual Scholarships for Students

Another college scholarship you probably haven't heard of is the Tall Clubs International Scholarship. This is a $1,000 scholarship for students who are of above average height. Women are eligible if they are 5'10" or taller, and men are eligible if they are 6'2" or taller. This is a national scholarship, but local branches of Tall Clubs International also offer scholarships to students as well.

There are a number of other offbeat scholarships available to students all over the United States. For instance, did you know you could earn a $500 award for being a fan of the TV show "Star Trek?" The Klingon Language Institute offers a scholarship to students interested in studying languages. There is a college scholarship for just about any student out there.
