Series 24 Exam

The Series 24 exam is the license for NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers) managers to supervise branch activities. Topics on this exam include: Supervision of Investment Banking, Trading Market Supervision, Sales Supervision, Primary and Secondary Markets, Supervising Customer Accounts and Orders, and Investment Companies. The format of the test is multiple choice, with 150 questions on the test.

You will have 210 minutes to complete the test, and a required score of 70 percent is necessary to pass this exam. The test is given Monday through Saturday, at any of the Prometric Testing Centers around the country and overseas. In general, most people need to study at least one to two hours a day for four weeks in order to pass the Series 24 exam.


Self Study Methods for the Series 24 Exam

Some home study materials include textbooks, computer disks, and videos, which also include quizzes and tests that include questions similar to the actual exam questions. It is essential that you take this securities training seriously, as the exam itself is difficult and requires that you have extensive knowledge about investing and trading, as well as rules and regulations. When you enter the real job market upon successful completion of this exam, you will have a large responsibility on your shoulders every day, and you will always have to act in your client's best interests.

The prerequisite for this exam is the Series 7, Series 17, Series 38, Series 62, or the Series 82 exams. The fee for taking this test is $75.00.
