C/C++ is a programming language that was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup of Abbot Labs and released in 1985. C is a low level programming language that is popular because of its fast execution times and excellent precision. C++ added object oriented programming functionalities to C language. Object oriented programming allows developers to visualize systems as groups and the interactions between the groups.

C/C++ programming is the most common programming language in the world. The language is used for graphical applications including those found in Macintosh and Windows. C/C++ can be used to create large or small programs and can create programs that will do whatever you want them to do. In order to use C/C++ programming language you will need a compiler which will convert source code into executable files.

Learning to Understand and Use C/C++

You do not need to be a genius or software engineer to learn C/C++. For those individuals who are self driven learners there is a plethora of resources available on the Web. Free tutorials will educate readers as to the basics of C/C++ programming language as well as how to use it. Typing code into a compiler while following a tutorial will create an interactive learning experience that enforces the principles in the tutorial.

For those that are not self directed learners or who enjoy the classroom environment there is a wide selection of C/C++ training courses. Like tutorials, courses are available that teach the basics of C/C++ programming language. These interactive courses will be led by an experienced instructor that will be able to answer student questions. Course length can range from one day seminars to a full five day course.
