Beginning around the first century AD, Korea want through what is known as the Three Kingdoms Period, marked by impressive advances in art, architecture, literature, and statesmanship. Around this time, Buddhism became central to Korean life. This small country suffered through millennia of invasions and foreign rule, culminating with its official division into two nations in the 1950s.

Finding South Korea Phone Cards Online

Prepaid phone cards can be purchased online for as little as $5.00 for 102 minutes with a per minute cost of $.048. One card I have found included three minute rounding and a $.49 maintenance fee twice monthly. The rates on this card were for calls from the United States only.

Before you decide on a card, you should know that the calling cards that come with the lowest per minute rates often have added charges such as the ones listed for the above-noted card. It can be much more cost-effective to purchase a card that has a higher per minute rate and no additional charges. Your choice may be based on how often you plan to call and whether you plan to call over an extended period of time.

The right card is one that meets your specific needs. If you plan to call for only a few weeks a year, for example, you might want to get a card with lower per minute rates and a short expiration date. This can be a good choice if you intend to use all of the minutes in a short period of time. A rechargeable card can be more cost-effective if you have relatives or friends living in South Korea that you plan to call regularly.
