Today it is possible to get quality clean USA phone cards with very little effort, especially when you shop online. If you've never used a prepaid phone card before, you should know that phone cards are just about the cheapest way to call anywhere within the USA or internationally. Not only are they inexpensive, but they are are also easy to purchase

It's all about choosing which card will meet your needs. That's because there are many different kinds of cards at many different rates and with different features and fees. These cards are intended to meet individual calling needs. For example, you might want to use a prepaid phone card only while your son or daughter is travelling in Europe. There are also cards designed specifically for persons in the military and cards for business persons who will be away for long periods of time.

Many websites actually offer the scenarios under which a certain type of card will most benefit the user. Some of the features and issues to consider are whether a card comes with a per call connection fee, a short period of active time to use the card, and even monthly or weekly maintenance fees. The main concerns should be the per minute rate for each call and the length of time each call is rounded up when you use a partial minute. All of these fees and rounding up will have a direct impact on your bottom line per minute call rate.

Rule of Thumb for USA Phone Cards

It's a rule of thumb when buying a prepaid phone card that the longer you plan to call, the higher the per minute rate will be and that, for short calls or calls that will use up all the minutes on a card, the lower the per minute rate. Rechargeable cards, those that come with more minutes at a slightly higher rate usually have more minutes and no additional charges. USA cards come with some very low rates for domestic calls, and many can be used for both long distance and international calls. The rates for non-local calls will, however, be higher and will depend on where you're calling. Comparing prepaid card rates of $.014 per minute to $.05 per minute or more clearly shows the advantage of using these cards.
