Many may not know how much used medium format cameras are worth. A person could purchase a great camera without knowing how wonderful it really is, and the potentially beautiful pictures that could be taken with it. Here is a little information for those who may not even know what they have.

When a camera is categorized as a medium format camera, it usually means that the camera will accept a standard 120 or 220 roll of film at about 6 centimeters wide (2 and 1/4 inches). When the film is developed, the pictures can be printed out in either 6 x 4.5cm or 6 x 9cm (although some can print panorama 6 x 12cm ones as well). These cameras are perfect for people who wish to take pictures in higher quality than 35mm but who don't need the expensive larger format.

Who Would Want Used Medium Format Cameras

Since many previously owned cameras can be resold and recycled, even in part form, there is a large market out there for used photo equipment. A photographer who is interested in becoming a wedding photographer, for example, would be a perfect candidate to purchase used medium format cameras. The type is perfect for his line of work, and he wouldn't be spending a huge amount for the camera equipment value.

There are many brands which specialize in the medium format, such as Bronica, Fuji, Hasselblad, and Mamiya. Because of their popularity, they are much sought after amongst camera auctions and used camera shops. If you have a previously used medium format camera, you could get a nice return if you choose to sell it.
