Yashica Used Cameras

Yashica used cameras have been around since the company first started manufacturing photography equipment in 1957. In the 1970's, the Contax brand was bought from Carl Zeiss by Yashica, who utilized the Contax brand name to produce Yashica-modeled camera bodies. Since the 1980's, both names are now under the Kyocera corporation.

The great thing about Yashica used cameras is that they are currently underrated as cameras. Most people are eager to purchase used Yashica cameras from individuals because they know they can resell them for a considerable price compared to their high quality. Because the market is so small, they also know that used Yashicas are hard to find and can be considered collectable.

The Benefits of Owning Yashica Used Cameras

Despite the small market for these used film cameras, the "upgrade path" is quite unique and specialized. That is, you can take an old Yashica body and replace the lens with, say a Carl Zeiss T* lens and then upgrade to a Contax body in the future. Once this is done, you can resell the old Yashica body to be recycled by another photographer, or use them as a backup system.

The interchangeability between Yashica and Contax has created a small but integral fan base amongst both brands. It is easy to find camera buyers who are interested in purchasing Yashica equipment specifically for these fans. Just go online and ask for a free quote if you are interested in your own camera.
