Motorola's E398 was designed mainly for the youth market, although it will come in handy to those of all ages who want to stay connected and listen to music. It comes equipped with dual 3D speakers and an MP3 player, which makes it popular with those who like to take their tunes with them. The E398 is also surprisingly well connected with an impressive set of features, including an integrated camera.

The phone's design is rather austere at first glance, but the E398's high-quality display can be personalized with downloadable wallpaper via Java technology. Java also provides the opportunity for further fun with polyphonic ring tones that sound great on the hi-fi speakers. The rhythm lights built into the side speakers can be set to flash when calls come in, which was also seen in Motorola's V80 model.

E398 Possibilities

For such an entertaining device, the E398 has some rather practical business applications as well, including popular Bluetooth connectivity. E-mail, instant messaging, and internet browsing are all supported by the E398 as well. The tri-band GSM phone also has an organizer and PIM applications.

The E398 is a versatile phone with features to suit nearly everyone, but its music and stereo applications set it apart from the rest of the crowd. It's a perfect example of the new fashion-class phones that are beginning to hit the market. They're not all fluff and fun applications, but contain some pretty serious technological capability as well.
