Motorola V80Written by Helen Glenn Court As you shop for phones up to the task of working when they're not at home, take a look at the Motorola V80. With the same sound technology that it has long been famous for, Motorola offers several great features on this trendy little traveler. You'll appreciate the Bluetooth connectivity, enjoy the camera, use the wireless Internet, and marvel at the nifty swivel form. The Lowdown on the Motorola V80The suitability for travel comes with the Motorola V80's tri-band support for the three frequencies of GSM technology you need in a cell phone today. First is that used in the United States and a few South American countries--1900 MHz. Second are the two designated 10 years earlier when Europe first developed the technology that has now spread to Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Rim, as well as much of South and Central America. Someone's out of step. It's us. The Motorola V80, however, is more than a sophisticated little traveler you'll be proud to take with you en route elsewhere. With 65,000 colors and a 176 by 200 pixel TFT display, your text messaging and internet browsing capabilities are first rate. A possible downside is that the VGA camera is decidedly not SLR quality. What cell phone camera is? As an email client, the V80 supports bob POP3 and SMTP, which makes it useful indeed. Fax, picture, multimedia and text messaging, and multiplayer gaming are all supported. The antenna is internal, and the battery life impressive. Specifications cite seven hours of talk time and 10 days of standby time. Beating this combination of features at this price seems like a tall order!
