The Nokia 6260 is a smartphone that stands out from the rest with its uniquely designed hinge that enables the top half of the phone to twist and swivel around. The integrated 0.3 megapixel camera becomes a digital camcorder when used this way, and this is the primary focus of the phone's design. This application makes the 6260 an attention-getting device for sure, but its many other technological capabilities are what make this phone worth checking out.

6260 Technology

For starters, the phone's connectivity is a big part of its appeal. It supports a tri-band GSM capability, making it operational all over the world. In addition, it has the usual set of high-end smartphone features like Bluetooth technology and an Infrared port. Instant messaging and e-mail are also possible with an advanced Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).

The 6260 boasts a highly stable operating system, Nokia's Series 60 platform. The phone comes equipped with a number of Personal Information Management applications, as well pre-installed software like QuickPoint and QuickWord. These programs make it possible to view documents in Microsoft's PowerPoint and Word formats. There is also an ample 6 MB of memory built in, with the possibility of adding more with an expansion MMC slot (a 32 MB card is included).

For a phone of this level and price range, the Nokia 6260 delivers all the capability typically desired for business applications. Its distinctive flexible hinge is an extra eye catcher, and Nokia's smartphone technology rounds out the overall package. The 6260 is larger than most flip phones in this age of "the smaller the better" designs, but Nokia compensates with its high-level technology.
