Panasonic's X70 boasts an eye-catching design, but it's also got some smart features that can enable the user to stay in touch with fast connection speed and lots of options for messaging. Notable among the X70's many features are its Bluetooth technology and built-in camera. The X70's large internal display screen is also worth mentioning; it's a TFT screen that supports 65,536 colors.

The X70 takes the basic format of a clamshell design and creates its own unique shape. Not just your average flip phone, the X70 is slimmer than most phones of this caliber, with a vertical exterior display that indicates digital or analog time and caller ID in a variety of color choices. The X70 is a definite style evolution of the popular Panasonic GD87.

The camera of the X70 is a big part of its appeal, and there are a variety of options for storing, sending, and receiving photos. The X70's MMS allows the creation of messages that include images, audio clips, and text. There is also the possibility to attach pictures to phone book entries, as well as to create slideshows and albums. The camera includes a built-in photo light for low light conditions and a small self-portrait mirror.

The phone, like most cell phones on the market now, comes with an advanced organizer, with alert system and calendar. Both Internet and POP3 e-mail are supported, with a WAP 2.0 browser and GPRS. The X70 remains popular with the fashion class segment of cell phone consumers, and it has some entertainment and business applications to back it up.
