Perhaps the most remarkable thing about Sony Ericsson's S700i is its integrated 1.3 megapixel camera with a load of related features. This caliber camera is of true digital quality, and this is the main focus of this swivel phone. In fact, it's hard to tell whether the device shouldn't actually be referred to as a camera with mobile communication capability.

S700i Form and Function

The S700i's extra large 262K-color display becomes a viewfinder for the camera when the phone is closed, unlike most camera phones. This provides the freedom of a horizontal operation of the camera function. This innovation leads to a more familiar method for taking pictures, and offers more stability as well. There is also the unique possibility to operate other applications while the phone is closed using the display interface.

The S700i offers a strong set of audio features, as well, including a built-in FM radio, MP3 player and loudspeaker. The phone is J2ME compatible, with the ability to download many Java games and applications for personalization. The S700i supports multiplayer games as well, which works well with the impressive dimensions of its screen.

The S700i is a tri-band GSM phone with both Bluetooth and Infrared wireless connectivity, as should be expected from such a well-featured handset. The device is also SyncML compatible, with the ability to make sure data stored in any personal device is up to date. Whether its wireless web browsing, instant and multimedia messaging, or QuickShare technology for sharing photos, the S700i will prove a truly efficient mobile communicator.
