Do Not Call Registration

Do Not Call Registration can be done by dialing a toll-free number or by logging onto the FTC's website. To register your phone number on the DNC List by phone, you need to dial 1-888-382-1222 from the phone number you wish to register. You can visit the website at WWW.DONOTCALL.GOV, and register your phone number via the Internet.

Keep in mind that it takes three months for this to take affect, which means during the first three months after you register, you will still receive phone calls from telemarketers. However, once the three months is up, you should notice a large drop-off in the number of unwanted calls you get each day. Non-profit organizations, and businesses that you currently do business with are exempt from this law, as are long-distance phone and insurance companies.

Using the Do Not Call Registration

It is easy to sign up with the Do Not Call Registration. It only takes a few minutes of your time, whether you register by phone or website. You can register up to three phone numbers at one time, and this can include your mobile phone number.

Once you register, your number will remain on the Do Not Call List for five years, upon which time you will need to re-register your number. You can at any time have your name removed from this DNC List. For more information regarding this law, please click on the link above which will take you to our recommended site.
