Dvd R Burners

DVD-ROM and DVD-R are base formats. The base formats hold the data. These are the physical formats of your DVD.

Burning a New DVD with DVD R Burners

DVD R burners allow you to burn your copy of a DVD movie or audio onto another disc. The DVD copying software copies your DVD movie onto a blank disc. Then the DVD R burner burns the new DVD.

The reason the DVD burner is called a DVD "R" burner is because the burning process is applicable to the base format. Your movie is copied onto the DVD video format, and burned onto the DVD-R base format. All this sounds very complicated, but with a recommended DVD burner program, making a copy of your favorite movie can be as easy as one mouse click.
