Military Connectors

Military connectors are electronic components that meet military specifications, otherwise known as mil-spec. They have been approved by the government for use in military applications. Excess inventories of military connectors are common, and these parts often end up in non-military applications or at private companies utilizing military technology.

Most military connectors, however, do not go directly from the military to private use. They must travel through a distributor before they are sold to the general public. There are a few reputable, experienced distributors of military connectors and other obsolete electronic components that purchase the military’s excess inventories and then sell the products to other companies and individuals who need the parts.

Connector availability is not usually a major concern. An independent distributor of military connectors will most likely have thousands, even millions of electronic components in stock and for sale at very reasonable prices. Ordering can be done online or through the distributor’s sales department. Many different payment methods are usually accepted and delivery is quick.

Sometimes, however, a hard-to-find connector is required. In this situation, an independent online distributor is still the best place to locate such an item. Even if it is not carried in stock, a good distributor maintains networks and agreements with other suppliers and retailers and should be able to easily locate even the most difficult to find electronic components.
