Its waterproof capabilities can send your exact location to another Rino user wthin 2 mile-range on the FRS spectrum. Using this "position reporting" technology, the Rino 120 also provides two-mile communications, which work with conventional FRS radios as well. In fact, you can also use a voice scrambler or vibration mode if you need to, for silent calls. You can choose from 22 communication channels, with 1-14 FRS, and 15-22 GMRS. Best of all, there are 38 sub-audible squelch codes for each transmission channel, giving you the option of semi-private radio communications. Of course, the Rino 120 has a built-in basemap with U.S. road and highway detail. This is augmented by the 8 MB of internal memory, giving you the ability to download road, street, and local points-of-interest information. As usual, this unit is compatible with Garmin MapSource® MetroGuide®, Fishing Hot Spots™, Topo, or BlueChart® CD-ROMs.
