The GPS V is a fully-packed GPS system bundled together in a compact handheld design. With automatic routing capabilities and detailed mapping through WAAS technology, the GPS V makes certain you never lose your way again. With an automotive mount, you can use the GPS V in your vehicle, for the ultimate driving experience.

Of course, you can use the PC interface cable to download and transfer data using your personal computer. Like most Garmin products, you can take advantage of MapSource® integration--in fact, the City Select CD-ROM comes bundled with the unit. This allows you to access detailed street maps and locate the nearest restaurant, hotel, or gas station, no matter where your location is.

The GPS V sports state-of-the-art technology, allowing for turn-by-turn directions, to ensure accuracy. When it's time to turn, you will hear audible beeps, so that you never bypass a turn or lose your route. It comes with a built-in basemap of Americas Autoroute, to get you started as you navigate North America (though European versions are available as well).

Using Your GPS V Device

Believe it or not, you can even change the display to horizontal, so that you can mount it on a bike or vehicle--while using it vertically when it's handheld. For car use, take advantage of the 12-volt adapter, which plugs into virtually any cigarette lighter. When you're on the go, you can use the wrist strap, to make sure you don't lose your grip on your GPS V.
