Tv Wall Mounts

TV wall mounts are an important part of home theatre systems, and require some thought and planning. If you want a really big widescreen or plasma TV, it's not likely to fit in one of the entertainment centers designed to fit entire small or medium-sized audio-visual systems, so you're going to have to improvise an ideal set-up for all of your audio and visual equipment. You should search TV wall mounts carefully in order to make sure that you are able to set up your equipment safely and make the best use of your space.

In addition to making efficient use of your space, the right wall mount will be easy to use. If you opt for a wall mount, your television can be at the exact height you choose, as opposed to fixed at whatever height the shelf in an entertainment center falls. In many cases, you would like to be able to swivel your TV, as well, depending on where people are sitting, to watch at different times.

Different Models of TV Wall Mounts

There are a couple of different basic models of TV wall mounts, as well as accessories which can enhance their performance. Some models are referred to as tray models. Typically, these are two pieces: a bracket which attaches to a support beam in the wall, and then a tray which is mounted on the bracket. Generally, these trays have tilting and swiveling capacities.

Some products called wall mounts are actually ceiling mounts, which are great because they save a lot of space. The principle is similar to that of the other two-part wall mounts: a structure is hung from a support beam in the ceiling, and then a swiveling frame is tightened around the television, essentially holding it in a cage. Finally, a plasma TV which is only inches thick can be mounted directly to the wall like a framed picture. Here, too, the most important thing is making sure that you place the wall mounts correctly so that they can bear the weight of the equipment.
