Instant messaging (IM) is now a common way to communicate online. It is used to chat with co-workers, family, peers, and friends. It can be used by anyone with a computer and access to the Internet.

Instant Messaging Options

There are many different companies that offer instant messaging. Some of the popular IM services include AOL, Microsoft, and Yahoo. If you use a particular internet service, such as AOL, you may want to use the corresponding IM service.

IM is a necessary tool for many businesses. It allows decisions to be made at a faster rate because communication takes place in real time. It also allows for immediate contact with an employee, even if that employee is talking on the phone at the same time.

Instant messaging is fun and convenient for social use and most businesses consider IM to be a helpful tool. However, some businesses feel that IM is just another distraction for their employees. IM cannot be monitored or controlled which makes it a problem for some and an exciting feature for others.
