RCA has long been an industry leader in video equipment and home entertainment systems. RCA now manufactures a line of digital and HDTV-ready televisions equipped to continue that tradition in the digital age. RCA offers several liquid crystal display (LCD) TVs, capable of processing high definition video with a significantly more detailed appearance than its analog ancestors.

RCA PHD50500 is one of their most popular LCD TVs, and offers a variety of features that make it perfect for a home entertainment center. This 17-inch model features a flat panel, thanks to LCD technology, and weighs less than 30 lbs. It’s mounted on a swiveling base, and offers numerous audio/video jacks for connections with other home entertainment products, such as game consoles, DVD players, and satellite TV

The PHD50500 also features a high quality integrated audio system, capable of processing several popular surround sound formats. The audio can also be played in virtual stereo mode, allowing the TV to replicate surround sound effects using its two built-in speakers. It also boasts detailed audio controls, similar to a stereo mixer, and separate controls for bass, treble, and balance, allowing you to customize your audio settings.

The audio settings, as well as video settings, and additional features, can be accessed via the onscreen menu. The menu, which is available in English, Spanish, and French provides a means to monitor, set, and adjust various aspects of the audio/video setup though the infrared programmable remote included with the unit. The menu can also be used to create a password for V-Chip restricted viewing, as well as to set a built in alarm and sleep timer.
