Show AvWritten by Nicholas Kamuda Businessmen and women involved in organizing presentations have many options of equipment to generate and show AV content. Most of the AV content in the business world is generated with specialized software programs, such as PowerPoint or some kind of motion graphics software. Equipment to show AV, however, ranges from projectors to plasma screens--what equipment is ideal varies depending on the purpose, venue, and complexity of the material. The most common piece of equipment to show AV material may be a LCD or other projector. A modest projector, such as 3000- or 4000-lumen projector may suit most business needs. However, some larger venues or more exacting material may require a more powerful 5000- or 6000-lumen projector. For many large presentations at trade shows or for aesthetic material, more powerful projectors may handle the material more accurately. Most projectors are capable of receiving both RCA and component video inputs. Others may have a digital input to play AV content directly from a computer. Digital inputs allow many contemporary projectors to function as either a mirror to your computer screen, or as a supplemental display. Using a High Definition Screen to Show AVLike projectors, many plasma screens have component and digital inputs. Plasma screens are ideal for small audiences or small venues, such as trade show booths. They allow maximum clarity (HDTV quality) with minimum setup, and require little table or floor space.
