Personal weather stations are an affordable, reliable way to keep up with the rapidly changing weather around you. With so many variables in life, it's nice to be able to keep up with the one thing you shouldn't have to worry about: the weather. Finding the time for an afternoon out of the house can be tough enough without having to worry about whether your relaxation will be interrupted by a sudden storm or shower.

There are many, many varieties of personal weather station available. Most are small enough to either mount inconspicuously on any wall or blend in with a gallery of desktop photographs. Large LCD displays and touch-of-a-button usability make them a convenient aide in quickly and effectively planning your day.

Customizing Your Personal Weather Station

Many manufacturers offer special options for customizing your weather stations. One common addition is that of an additional remote sensor for a specialized purpose, such as monitoring water temperature. By adding a submersible thermometer, you can monitor the temperature of your pool of hot tub remotely, enhancing the convenience of your home luxuries.

Another popular customization option that is available for many models of digital weather station is software and an additional antenna for your personal computer. The antenna receives the same incoming data as the weather station itself, and logs the data in detail on your computer. This effectively doubles your monitoring ability, allowing you to access incoming weather information from your computer screen as well as from the original base station.
