Nanny searches are perhaps one of the biggest searches performed on the Internet on a daily basis. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of nannies surfing the Web, looking for open nanny positions. On the flip side, there are probably hundreds of families also surfing the Web looking to hire a nanny.

If you are looking for a nanny, there are a couple of different ways you can perform nanny searches. One way, which is the cheapest method but not the most efficient, is to place ads in the newspaper. Most people who go this route end up trying another method because they don't find a qualified nanny. The second way, which is very expensive but efficient, is to use nanny agencies that will do all the legwork for you. However, the fees for nanny agencies run as high as $3,600, which is way too much money for many families.

Cost-Effective Nanny Searches

Finally, the third way to conduct a nanny search is to utilize an online site that provides thousands of personal profiles and resumes of nannies who are looking for work, as well as job listings for families who are trying to find a nanny. The fee for the nanny to use such a service is free, while parents must pay a very reasonable fee, usually between $200-$400, to use the site for a specified period of time. Many parents opt to go this route after a little investigation into the alternatives.

Nanny searches performed in this fashion can be fun, because parents can read the profiles and resumes themselves, and basically pick and choose whom they want to contact for an interview. All contact is made directly by the parents or the nanny, as there is no middle man setting up interviews or performing background checks. Finding a nanny in this fashion can be quick, as well as cost efficient and fun.
