Montessori Diploma

A Montessori diploma is one of the single best credentials you can look for in a teacher. Unlike traditional teacher training programs, Montessori certification requires advanced education in learning theory and child development. Armed with this knowledge, instructors are infinitely better prepared to teach.

Many parents spend a great deal of time trying to find the best teachers for their children. From scoping out classrooms years in advance to looking at local magnet or charter schools, the goal is to secure a spot with the most qualified teachers. However, the issue of "qualification" is tricky business, and parents often end up going off of word of mouth rather than specific teaching credentials.

The Value of a Montessori Diploma

There are a number of problems with this approach. Just because a certain teacher worked wonders with your neighbor's child doesn't mean he will be a good fit with your own child. What you need is a more objective way to evaluate potential classroom instructors.

Although there are countless ways to do this, it often helps to determine whether a potential teacher has a Montessori diploma. A Montessori certificate reflects state-of-the-art training in some of the most effective and scientifically-proven teaching methods. Moreover, it reflects a real commitment to quality teaching, as it requires instructors to go above and beyond the basic certification classes.
