Planning A Southern California Wedding

The first and most important step in planning a wedding in southern California is finding and reserving a location. Southern California is one of the nation's top wedding destinations. Many popular wedding locations such as old movie theatres and parks on the beach are booked many months in advance. Make a list of potential wedding locations. If you're planning your wedding last-minute, you may not be able to have your wedding at your preferred location.

The next thing you should do is consider where your wedding reception will be. Many people have their wedding reception at a location far from where the ceremony took place. This may present a problem for out of town guests not accustomed to driving in southern California traffic or on southern California freeways. If you cannot find a location near the ceremony, be sure to include a detailed map with directions to the reception in the invitation. You may want to have directions on hand at the ceremony for people who forget to bring the invitation with them.

Don't Forget The Sunblock!

Choosing a caterer for your reception should also be near the top of your list. Take into consideration people's diet requirements or food allergies. Offer people a choice of different entrees or have a buffet-style meal where everyone will have something to eat.

Don't forget about the entertainment for your wedding reception. Many people find the reception to be the more memorable and entertaining part of any wedding celebration. Choose a DJ that has a good selection of songs and a pleasant personality to ensure that a good time is had by all.
