One of the best ways to build a sense of camaraderie in the workplace is by throwing a party. A corporate party can temporarily bring down the cubicle walls and let employees be themselves. An evening of dining and dancing can substantially raise employee morale which can lead to an increase in productivity.

DJs that specialize in corporate events know just how to loosen up a crowd that is mostly accustomed to a few seconds of idle chit-chat in the lunchroom. Using songs that require audience participation like the Conga or "Shout" can serve as exciting icebreakers. Even a few carefully selected square-dance songs can serve as the foundation for new workplace friendships.

Use Music to Your Advantage

The right music can serve as a magnet to draw in prospective customers, especially at launch parties and business conventions. Retailers have been using music for years to draw customers in and to get them to linger in their stores. Play music that is appealing to your target audience. If you're aiming for teen and pre-teen girls, music acts that get a lot of airplay on MTV and contemporary hit radio. Teenage boys usually prefer hip-hop music or aggressive rock music. If you're out of touch with today's music trends, find a DJ that knows what's hot and what's not.

One of the newest formats for corporate parties is a karaoke-based event. This gives everyone in the office a chance to show off his or her inner Elvis or Celine Dion. Karaoke can provide a family-friendly environment for your coworkers and their children that can be more inclusive and entertaining than a conventional cocktail party.
