San Diego Wedding Receptions

Now that all of the formalities of exchanging rings and vows are out of the way, it's time to party! A truly memorable wedding is one with a fun and festive reception. Almost everyone enjoys seeing the bride and groom get loose. Good food, good music, and goofy dances all combine to produce a night to remember.

Many people are looking beyond the conventional locations for wedding receptions. In San Diego alone, there are many different options available for post-wedding activities. San Diego's temperate climate makes it possible for both professional and self-planners to think outside the box and outside of the conventional ballroom.

Interesting Reception Venues

When planning a reception, try to use your and your future spouse's relationship as a jumping-off point. Use your first date as inspiration for the overall theme of your celebration. If the two of you met at the local coffee house, see about renting out the same coffee house to host your reception. If you met on a cruise ship, you can recreate that nautical feeling by having your reception on one of San Diego's harbor cruises. The only limit is your imagination.

Regardless of where your reception is, make sure to have a good selection of music. Choose a DJ that has a wide variety of music types so that you can have great background music playing throughout your reception. Soft classical music playing while the food is being served can create an atmosphere of elegance. After eating, have the DJ inject an atmosphere of fun into the room with a rousing rendition of the Chicken Dance or the Hokey Pokey!
