Planning a wedding can be one of the most daunting tasks someone can take on. Fortunately for beginners, there are plenty of resources available to help make planning a wedding a fun, exciting and successful process. Although the Internet may be where most people turn first, there are additional places to turn for help.

The first place people turn to for guidance is the local bookstore or library. There you can find books for planning any wedding from the highly elaborate, celebrity-style events, to a more personal, quiet occasion. You can get advice from renowned wedding planners, or first-time planners, such as Jessica Simpson.

Wedding Planning Advice Can Be Found in Many Places

Other resources that you can also find in the library or bookstore are books on general event planning. Many of these event planning books will have invaluable tips to help you run your event smoothly, no matter the size or occasion. Events of all types share many of the same coordination needs such as catering, entertainment services, photographers and valet service.

The most common source of help and information for first-time wedding planners is generally friends and family. Chances are someone you know has planned or helped plan a wedding or corporate event, and would be more than happy to help you with planning the wedding you have been put in charge of. Parents tend to be valuable sources of planning tips and tricks, since they have friends, children, and brothers and sisters that have survived the sometimes stressful wedding planning process.
