Barney, that annoyingly cheerful purple plush dinosaur that kids are wild about, has brought out a retrospective. Barney's Musical Scrapbook contains 14 songs taken from the 1995 season of the TV sing-along series Barney & Friends. It's "Barney's Greatest Hits," and pint-sized fans are sure to love it.

Favorite Songs from Favorite Skits

Among the numbers included on the DVD are "My Kite," "The Clapping Song," "Number Limbo," "My Hat It Has Three Corners," "Mr. Sun," "The Ants Go Marching," "The Barney Bag," and of course, "I Love You, You Love Me." Be prepared to hear these tunes over and over. Not only will your child play the DVD at every opportunity, but you're likely to hear the ditties wafting from the back seat of the car as well.

Kids will enjoy revisiting classic Barney episodes. Among those that are referenced are "Shawn and the Beanstalk," "Up We Go!" "It's Raining, It's Pouring," "Ship, Ahoy!" and "Shopping for a Surprise." Baby Bop, BJ, Shawn, Tosha, Jason, Kathy, Juan, Carlos, Min, Kenneth, and Julie appear in the segments included on the DVD.

Many adults find Barney hard to take. But when you're frantically trying to get dinner on the table and your three-year-old is cranky and teasing the baby, you'll be very grateful for 53 minutes of songs that will keep the little ones entertained. While they enjoy reliving the boat trip to CoCo Island, breath a sigh of relief and offer up thanks to the Purple One.
