However, many people on both sides of the pond have certain preconceptions about the other culture. Of course, these are not always true, but they have done a lot to keep both parties from engaging. However, some of these beliefs have actually opened up borders and lines of communication for some.

If an American man visits a European dating service that is designed specifically to help Americans meet European women, he will most likely be told that European women are different from American women. They are, according to most sites, more concerned with family, more loyal, and many of them hold the belief that a man is the head of the household. Whether people care to admit it or not, there are a number of men who are looking for those very traits in a woman.

How Does a European Dating Service Work?

European services that cater to Americans generally help them meet women in Eastern Europe. Countries like Russia, the Ukraine, and Belarus have major international dating services connected to them. There are also some sites that help men meet German or Polish girls. There are ways for men from the U.S. to meet women from Western Europe, but these sites function very differently.

Dating through a service generally consists of emailing, sending gifts and letters, and occasionally talking on the phone. However, trips to Europe can be set up through many agencies, so a couple can get to know each other in person. The process is not terribly different from online dating in America. However, the majority of people involved with European dating services are not simply looking to meet for coffee. They have marriage in mind.
