When applying for a credit card, it can be hard to decide just which card to apply for. Credit card applications come with a lot of fine print, and you want to make sure you're getting the best card you can. However, there are a few factors you want to be sure to consider when comparing offers from credit card companies.

Ways to Compare Credit Cards

The first thing to look at is the APR on the card. This is the Annual Percentage Rate, which represents the amount of interest that will be charged to you each year, based on the outstanding balance on the card. You want to find a card with a low APR rate, as this card will cost you the least. Make sure that you don't just have a low introductory APR, as the fine print may leave you paying more each month.

Another factor to consider is whether the card has an annual fee. Usually, annual fees are reserved for cards with no credit limit or with high credit limits. However, credit card companies may charge annual fees on top of an APR. Usually, you can find a card with no annual fee, and should look for one.

In addition to these financial factors, you might want to look at the rewards that different cards may offer. Some cards offer bonus frequent flyer miles, or cash back bonuses. You shouldn't base your decision entirely on rewards, but they do make a good deciding factor between comparable offers.
