There are many credit card companies out there competing for your business, and it can be hard to pick one. After looking at a few different offers, you might find yourself unsure which company to go with, just because they're all tossing a lot of numbers at you. And while competitive interest rates and credit limits are tempting, many companies have discovered that more tangible treats attract the most customers.

Many creditors will offer a variety of goods and services in return for your business. Whether airline miles, cash back, or discounts at your favorite stores, bonuses are the surest way to attract business. And with gas prices on the rise, many credit card companies have turned on to the idea of gas bonuses.

Types of Gas Cards

There are two basic types of gas card. One is a card issued by a creditor through a specific chain of gas stations. This card will have specific offers attached to it, such as grace periods on gasoline purchases from their chains, or earning free gallons of gas with other purchases.

The other type of gas credit cards are much like other bonus cards. Cards that offer cash back on a percentage of purchases will offer different percentages on different purchases. By offering up to a 10% cash back bonus on gas purchases, some cards will attract clients simply by virtue of saving on their gas costs.
