Get your credit report to view all the information that credit companies see and learn more about your financial history. Just briefly reviewing your credit report may allow you to spot mistakes or determine how you can improve your score. A credit report can contain errors or even outdated data that affects your buying power.

About the Report

A three agency credit report has information received from the three main credit agencies, Trans Union, Equifax and Experian. A comprehensive report includes information from all of these agencies in order to capture all the details of your credit history. After you get your credit report you may notice that the report is hard to decipher and contains information that is difficult to follow.

The first couple of times that you review your report you will need to take your time and understand what all the balances and marks mean. Looking at an open account with a balance will allow you to compare a recent statement with the report which should make it easier to understand. If you still cannot make sense of the report there are a number of resources available online that will explain each section in detail.

How to Get Your Credit Report

Any of the three credit agencies or the Fair Isaac Company will provide you with a detailed credit report upon your request. However, this process may take a while if you have to wait for the mail and for your request to be processed. Getting your report online will save you time and can be done from anywhere that you connect to the internet.
