At&t Credit Cards

AT&T credit cards offer a calling card in addition to traditional credit services. Although most credit cards can already be used to place toll phone calls, the resulting charges can be quite unpredictable. AT&T Universal cards allow you direct access to an AT&T calling plan, insuring you the fair, stable long distance rates you would get with a standard home plan. Some AT&T cards, such as their platinum line, even include several hours of prepaid long distance time as a gift to new customers.

When you're initially approved for a Universal card, you can select the type of calling plan you want to use with it. AT&T's "One Rate Plan" is very popular, as it allows you to place all long distance calls from your home for 10 cents a minute. Calls placed from outside your home are slightly more expensive, and payphones require an additional connection fee. The One Rate Plan allows you to manage your expenses thanks to consistent, regulated long distance charges. The Platinum card also allows you to earn additional long distance minutes as a reward for purchases and regular payments.

Features of AT&T Credit Cards

In addition to providing quick access to affordable long distance service, AT&T Universal cards feature a wealth of other customer provisions. AT&T's Universal Rewards Program uses a point system to help you earn rewards and rebates in conjunction with your account. Every dollar spent with the card is equal to one point, which is then credited to your rewards account. Once you've accumulated a certain amount of points (the lowest being 1,500), you can redeem them for a variety of awards. These awards can range from additional long distance minutes, phones, and prepaid phone cards to gift certificates that can be used at a number of popular retail outlets. Depending on your spending habits, your rewards might equal a one percent reduction in your overall balance.

All of the cards have no annual fees, low balance-transfer rates, and reasonable APRs. Platinum cards also offer traveler insurance against everything from accidents and injuries, to lost luggage. Platinum cards carry purchase insurance, meaning, if an item breaks within a certain amount of time after buying it with a platinum card, AT&T will pay to repair or replace the item.
