Citibank offers a wide selection of MasterCard credit cards for a variety of lifestyles. These cards include general-use cards, cards intended for balance transfers, Diners Club cards, student cards, secured cards, and more. While the initial APR on some of the introductory cards may seem high, Citibank is quick to adjust interest rates for customers who demonstrate responsibility when it comes to making payments. Other Citibank cards, such as their Platinum card, already feature a low APR. In addition, many of these cards have no annual fees.

Benefits of Citibank Credit Cards

The Citibank Diners Club Card offers a substantial rewards program, making it attractive to a number of potential applicants. The cardholders are given instant discounts on many travel-related expenses, such as car rentals and lodging. In addition, the card entitles the card holder to a 20 percent discount at many restaurants, worldwide.

Although the card carries an annual fee, people who travel frequently can recoup the expense quickly, thanks to the discounts. However, even though the Diners Club card is accepted by nearly all restaurants, hotels, airlines, and car rental agencies, many other businesses do not take it.

Citibank's "Driver's Edge" is another popular type of rewards card. The Driver's Edge card uses a point system to award credits to the holder for every purchase made using the card. When the cardholder buys or leases a car, these credits can then be used to help pay for the vehicle. The Student Dividend card provides cash back rewards on a regular basis. A percentage of every purchase is applied to the cash reward. Each time the cash reward reaches $100, a check is mailed to the cardholder.
