Low Carb Gift Baskets

You truly cannot go wrong when you give low carb gift baskets to those you love. With more and more people hopping on the high protein diet bandwagon, it seems that the word carbohydrates is going to be banished from our vocabulary for good. Carbohydrates, especially simple carbs like sugar and flour, are considered the “bad” carbohydrates. Sugar and flour are typically found in high caloric foods such as cookies, cakes, brownies, and candies.

People watching their weight need to greatly limit the amount of sugar they consume if they do not want to pack on the pounds. Furthermore, foods high in sugars also tend to be high in carbohydrates. Take for example chocolate cake. The amount of sugar in chocolate cake is astronomical, as is the number of carbs per serving.

There is a way around this dilemma though. Instead of using real sugar when baking sweet treats, maltitol can be a fantastic substitute. In fact, the FDA approved maltitol as a healthy food sweetener without all the calories and carbs. Furthermore, maltitol does not promote tooth decay, and it tastes basically as sweet as real sugar. You will probably not know the difference when eating maltitol sweetened foods as the flavor is comparable to that of real sugar.

Show Your Appreciation with Low Carb Gift Baskets

If you want to show those around you how much you appreciate them, low carb gift baskets can relay your message perfectly. You don’t even have to tell your gift recipients that they are eating sugar free chocolates, as they won’t be able to distinguish the difference. Think of their delight when they open up your gift basket and see the tasty treats in front of them. If you know your recipient is on a low carb diet, you may want to reveal your secret so they can enjoy their goodies without guilt.
